B Brendon "Low B" Bjorness-Murno has been playing at The Ocean Mist since 1996 and after years of playing 100 's of shows there, in over a dozen bands, he now hosts and books a weekly series every Friday night Called "The Friday Night Groove". The premises behind this evening is to pair up local acts with National acts to jumpstart the local music scene and get musicians to cross pollinate their audieces. The night isn't genere based, but more focused on each evening having a common genere that flows smootly and always opens the listeners musical taste and minds.
The Ocean Mist was named as one of the top 10 bestbars in America in Esquire magazine in 2009 and is located in beautiful Matunuck, RI. The room hold over 350 people and has hosted some of the largest names in music today, ranging from Ska/Punk legends Sublime , Jamband Staples such as moe. to Reggae legends such as Barrington Levy, Eek a Mouse, Yellowman, The EZ-Star Allstars & Buju Banton.
